President David Archer called the meeting to order. Corry Hunter led the flag salute and Sandy Stewart, with the help of Rey Neufeld, gave us words of wisdom.  There were some visiting Rotarians from Washington and a couple of visitors who are potential new members- Kiko and Wes.

4/28- Community Picnic. The Club is setting up the grill to serve Hot Dogs.  Call Dick Jandt for your assignment or for information.

        5/9 - Board Meeting

7/4 - 4th of July event in La Quinta including parade and fireworks

Dick Jandt announced that one of our future speakers is Probate Judge James Cox.

Adrian Gysi drew a $5 white ball so the pot is still alive!

Allan Levin took the podium and reached into the pockets of the following members for birthdays, anniversarys, no make ups, colorful shorts and a ringing cell phone- Rey Neufeld, Bob Wright, Dave Turner, Bruce "take those vitamins" Underwood, Andy Lorenz, Greg Lane and Phil Rushing.

President David started the Club assembly (the 2nd this year).  There was no fund raiser this year. In the previous year the Golf Tournament was a big success and no one wanted to lead it this year.  Sandy Stewart was again recognized for her successful Tournament in the previous year.  It was announced that the Club might do a Fun Golf Tournament prior to June.  The City of La Quinta has given the Club a $3,000 Grant to help offset the cost of Security for the 4/28 Picnic.  Talk to President David if you have questions on this item!  The Club will also be selling beer at the July 4th event.  The Club presently has approximately $5,000 for scholarships to La Quinta High School students.  The Foundation again will be asked to provide funds for Scholarships.  The amount is to be determined and discussed again next week after information is gathered.

The meeting was adjourned after the reciting of the Four Way Test.

Palm Desert Rotary Club Golf Tournament

La Quinta fielded two foursomes for the Palm Desert Rotary Club Golf Tournament on Monday, April 16th.  Below is a photo of six of our stalwart representatives.  Missing from the photo were LeRoy Anderson (enroute to Las Vegas) and Helen Anderson (behind the camera).  The second photo is our Team 14B.  One trophy will be presented to LeRoy Anderson for Closest To The Pin.  The second was presented to the La Quinta Club for fielding the largest non-Palm Desert Rotary Club contingent.  Well Done, Duffers.  There will be more in your next Bulletin.
