President Dan called the meeting to order and after getting the masses to settle down had Ben Hofheimer lead us in the salute to our flag.  Robert Wilkinson was inspired to say a few words of invocation and thanks. 
Visitors were introduced from Canada, Washington state, and North Carolina.  Also introduced were Robert's son, Kyle, and a guest of Helen Anderson-  Cameron Bridges from Martha's Village.   Nick Kraushaar introduced the 2011 La Quinta High School's Mock Trial Team.
The La Quinta City Picnic (was) is Saturday, April 30th.  It's ( It was) hot dog time.
Next Friday, May 6th, the meeting will not be held at the Cliff House.  We're meeting at the Old Town Artisan's Studio at Noon.  Old Town is west of Washington on Tampico..or if you still can't find it, check your GPS.  You'll probably be receiving more information on this next week.
Thursday eve, May 12th,  is the evening of our next mixer at Silver Rock.  Check the e-vite you received last week from Doug Motz .  You can also use that e-vite to rsvp.  All the information is there.
President Dan announced the District Conference on the weekend of June 10th to be held at the Doral Hotel.  More information to follow.

Allan did a great job today...collecting for no meetings, trips, anniversaries and birthdays.  Filling the till were Judith Redwine, Sam Payne, Sandy Lauer, Robert Wilkinson, Don Adolph, Ray Neufeld, Bruce Underwood, LeRoy Anderson.  Allan attempted to get something from Frank Blum but Frank invoked the "old geezer" rule.  Even this intrepid reporter invoked the "rule".  More reporting on that issue at a later date.  Andy Lorenz was high bidder for a gift certificate from Hyatt Grand Champions, donated by Bruce Underwood.  Ben Hofheimer, Dick Grund and Dick Chamberlain all said goodbye for the summer.
Membership chair Helen Anderson presented Jennifer Donais with her badge as she is no longer needs the red badge.
Our speaker was Kate Kramer from the US Forest Service who spoke on the unusual flora in our local national forests.
