With a sigh of relief,  Outgoing President David Archer called his last meeting to order.  Allan Levin led the flag salute and Doug Motz gave us prayers and words of wisdom for the 48th meeting of the 25th year of La Quinta Rotary.
There were no visiting Rotarians but two members had guests-  Doug Motz introduced his wife Carole and Diane Kelly introduced her grand daughter, Brittany.
Announcements included:
Tabs for tots...still needed...give to Jimbo
Demotion Party this Saturday, June 30th.
Helpers are still needed for the Beer Gardens for the La Quinta July 4th celebration.
An announcement will be made shortly when & where the meetings will be held during the Cliff House construction this summer.  Speculation has it that the meetings might be held at the Red Robin on Highway 111.
Speaking of meetings:   THE CLUB IS DARK NEXT WEEK, JULY 6TH
in honor of the July 4th holiday.
Doug Motz also requested that members participate in the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission drive for backpacks and school supplies.  Contact Doug for further details.
Dick Anderson was elected to fill a position on the Foundation Board vacated by Merv Kolb.  The vote was unanimous,
It was also announced that Corry Hunter and Sandy Stewart will switch presidential terms.  Sandy will  follow Robert and Corry will follow Sandy.
Our illustrious Sergeant at arms Allan had his ticket pulled and he subsequently pulled a white ball.
Allan took the podium and proceeded to recognize Lee Osborne, Andy Lorenz, Greg Lane, Sandy Lauer, David Turner, Dan Fissori and Sandy Stewart for various reasons including makeups, tardiness, talking instead of listening, etc.
Jimbo Dorr presented $105 for the Duck Races at the Rotary get together last Saturday night.  Jimbo and his wife Karen surely know how to throw a Rotary party.
Thanks, President Dave, for all your energy and hard work during the past year.
Now on to President Robert.
Editor's Note: I am regret that I was out of town for the end of our Rotary year. I want to express my personal thanks and congratulations to David Archer for fantastic year. His leadership and enthusiasm kept us all on point throughout the year. Thank you David for giving so much to the club.
On the travel front, Helen and I are doing our best to reduce the lobster population in Maine.  There are lobster rolls, lobster salad, and lobster pie in addition to the whole "bug".  Tomorrow we leave for a week's trip to Nova Scotia.
